This book was created because I have formed a formula, my own formula, for teaching or learning guitar. Through many years of working with my students and I found that I was writing out the same things over and over and over.

I decided to put it into a book and give it to all my students as a manual for learning guitar. Guitar in Your Hands has become the standard for teaching all beginner students who enrol in my school.

At the beginning of the book, there are 5 examples of the most common strumming patterns. I have discovered throughout all my years of teaching that these are the most common among thousands and thousands of songs.

The book also touches briefly on a couple of 12-bar blues examples, a few scales, progression examples, the Nashville number system, and a little blues chicken picking.
